Area of Triangle Solving
A triangle is one of the basic shapes of geometry: a polygon with three corners or vertices and three sides or edges which are line segments. A triangle with vertices A, B, and C is denoted ABC.(Source from Wikipedia). Here we are going to study about hove to solve the area of triangle problems and its examples.
Area of triangle:
Area of triangle:
Area of the triangle is multiply the base and height of the triangle then divided by two. It can be written as,
Area of triangle = 1/2 * b*h
B represents the base of the triangle
H represents height of the triangle.
Understanding Area of Triangle - Box Method is always challenging for me but thanks to all math help websites to help me out.
Example problems:
Example: 1
Find the area of triangle with base is 8 feet and height of the triangle is 6 feet.
Solving steps:
We know that the formula for finding the area of the triangle = 1/2 base * height
Here the given is b = 8 feet and h= 6 feet
Substitute the b and h value in the above formula we get
= `1/2` (8*6)
=`1/2` (48)
=`48/2`
The simplest form is 24
Therefore the area of the given triangle is 24 meter square
Example: 2
Find the Area of the following triangle
Area of triangle = 1/2 * b*h
B represents the base of the triangle
H represents height of the triangle.

Find the Area of the following triangle
Solving step:
We know that the formula for finding the area of the triangle = 1/2 base * height
Here the given is b = 9 feet and h= 7 feet
Substitute the b and h value in the above formula we get
= `1/2` (9*7)
=`1/2 ` (63)
= `63/2`
We have to find the decimal value it should be 31.5 meter square
Therefore the area of the given triangle is 31.5 meter square

Example: 3
Find the area of the triangle with height =9.5 cm and base of the triangle is 12.5
Solving step:
Formula for finding the area of the triangle = 1/2 b*h
Given; b= 12.5 cm, h= 9.5 cm
Therefore
=1/2 (12.5*9.5)
= 118.75 /2
=59.375 cm square
The area of the given triangle is 59.375cm square
